WHAT IS PERCEPTION

Perception 1Perception is the way a person uses their senses to interprate things around them. Different people have different perceptions of things around them. They get their perception of something from using the 5 senses, which are touch, seeing , smell , taste and hearing. They interperate their senses in order to get the perception of things.
This could also be the way some people judge others by just looking at them, by the way a person is dressed or the way they talk.

The saying dont judge a book by its cover is used alot in the outside world, however not many people do this as alot of peoples perception on things are directly linked to the senses they use.
The perception of something can change if the persons senses are not in order or there is a difficulty using them.

Drugs can affect the sight therefore this can altar the way someones perception of reality.
Likewise if you are tasteing something and you already have another taste in your mouth the perception of the taste can be altared. Such as smoking, when someone smokes and if they taste something after they have just smoked the previous taste would be altared therefore their perception of it would be different to if they have not smoked and tasted the same thing.

...Im Unique...

--FARAH --

Well I'm studying Marketing at the moment and so far i find it quite interesting. I have previously studied Marketing in Travel and Tourism which was one of my units in BTEC National Travel and Tourism Course in Uxbridge College. and have thoroughly enjoyed it. Therefore now moving on to Marketing as a whole will allow me to get a more clear and in depth understanding of Marketing as a whole.
Today we did something very different and i seriously did not see the point of it until it actually came together to give me a different perspective of others.
WEEK 1 - Frist Impressions
We had to draw a shape of our choice on a large piece of paper. In which we had to write down things in about our self’s that made us who we are.
these things included :
My age, gender, religion, ethnicity, where I live, colour of my eye, I'm a left handed, about my siblings, roles I play in life, what I liked to do in the weekend,
And what is my favourite ;drink, shop , film , colour , car, song. Depending on the way the student is ,their page would look different as the way they wanted to design it would be to their own personal choice.

After we had completed the sheet with our answers . The sheet was then passed to another fellow student in the class. No one in the class knew whose sheet had come to them and to whom their sheets had gone to.
Using the information written on the sheet the student had to interpret the way the person whose sheet it was, is like. They had to take in to account the answers on the sheet, and the layout . The student had to write on the reverse of the sheet their perception of the person of whom the sheet had belonged to.

On my sheet I had drawn a star as the large shape. I had drawn loads of pictures and written in different styles .Using all of the thing I had written the other student had to written interpretation and their perception of me on the reverse side of the sheet . The same way I had to interpret another person by the way they had written things on their sheet. When the sheets were returned to the correct person, we could see how people interpret you. When I had received my sheet back and read the interpretation of the other student of me. I was shocked at how true it was to the way I am in reality.
